In October 2013 I was 18 years old and went on a lifelong dream trip to New York Comic Con and got introduced to the world of pop culture, all because of The Walking Dead. Never as good as the graphic novel, but boy it was cool!īeing obsessed with the undead universe I started a twitter account and joined the #TWDFamily.

The tv show was everything I wanted it to be. I started very sceptic “now way that they will successfully portray this world on tv” I was wrong. After finishing the second hardcover I found out there was a tv show. The graphic novel made me fall in love with the incredibly scary, action packed, gory but most of all rich world filled with very human characters. I read the whole thing that same night and went back to the store to buy the whole collection the next day. I still remember the day that I bought my first ever comic book. Because you made me love it so much more. But thank you all who contributed to the story in any way possible. There’s just so much i could say but writing it here just seems like signing the end of contract. The gag covers just terrified me of a possible death of Carl, but its how he could go down, fighting for what he believed to be right. Seeing Carl all grown up and with a family of his own took the breath from me, but seeing the downfall of Maggie and Hershel hurt the most. But I’ll always re read through when i can. The art, the storytelling, the covers and the colors, i dont think I’ll ever see another zombie story at the level The Walking Dead was. My collection is going to be a bit harder to complete now, and my comic wall is going to need some thinking on it’s future, but it was a beautiful ending to a beautiful story. I have no doubt Robert Kirkman will go down as the new George A Romero, and I’m glad to have been a part of it. It was more than just another zombie story. I spent so much time invested in this story, just as everyone else had. It was beautiful, i feel i got more closure here than with Invincible, not that i loved it any less. But he wouldn’t have to travel alone, as he was joined by the many, many people whose lives his father affected. Carl arranged for his father to be transported back to Alexandria to be buried.

Carl immediately shot that walker in the head, only to then realize what he’d done. Carl arrived at his father’s residence the next morning to Rick reanimated as a walker. Previously: Sebastian Milton shot Rick Grimes. We know this isn’t going to be an easy transition, but we have an INCREDIBLE Walking Dead family to lean on as we go through this. Obviously, there’s a lot to digest here, and we’re going to be covering this sudden end with various types of posts, videos, and social content throughout the weeks leading to San Diego Comic Con and beyond.Īs we have done for years, we want to put YOUR thoughts the end of the series front and center. Creator Robert Kirkman shocked the world this week when he followed up Rick Grimes’ death issue with a 20+ year time jump and blank white page with the words “The End” printed in block letters on the bottom. The Walking Dead #193 brings us the end of the story of Rick Grimes. If you have NOT read this issue and don’t want to be spoiled, then avoid the comments, social media, and people in general until you read The Walking Dead Issue #193. Before we get into ANY of this, we need to leave yet another spoiler warning.
